PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Winter Storm Watch goes into effect late Sunday for possible heavy snow on Monday.
TODAY: Partly sunny, windy and cold. High 33, feeling like the teens most of today.
SUNDAY: Sunshine mixes with high clouds. High of 34. Wind chills in the low 20s.
MONDAY: Steady light snow falling for most of the daylight hours. Temperatures stay below freezing.
Monday's storm enters the Pacific Northwest and will reach the other side of the Rockies by Sunday morning. It will then track due east toward Virginia Beach/Outer Banks on Monday spreading a swatch of snow through our area.
Here are the bullet points:
- Snow arrives around 4 a.m. to 7 a.m.
- Light, but steady snow falls during the daylight hours.
- There doesn't look to be any one period of really heavy snow so that is good news for keeping up on the roads.
- Temperatures will be below freezing so snow will stick and make untreated surfaces slippery.
- Snow ends around 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- There will be a very tight snowfall gradient across our area from less than 1" in the Poconos to over 6" in parts of Delaware and South Jersey.
- Expect some adjustments as we go through the weekend and the storm continues to move across the U.S. and get better analyzed.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny, still cold and windy. If snow is on the ground it will blow around given the fluffy consistency. High 30.

THURSDAY: Mostly sunny and cold. High in the upper-20s.
FRIDAY: Partly to mostly sunny skies, cold and breezy. High 32.
