Owl survives wild ride on big rig's grill

WEBER CO., UT (WPVI) -- A great horned owl in Utah had quite the ride over the weekend after it was hit by a big rig.

According to the Weber County, Utah, Sheriff's Office, a trucker hit the owl on I-15 and drove with the owl in the vehicle's grill for several miles.

The trucker said he did remember hitting the owl, but didn't think it was still on his vehicle.

He only noticed it when he stopped for breakfast the next morning.

He was shocked to see the owl was still alive.

It suffered a broken wing but is expected to survive.
