WHITE LAKE, N.C. -- A pump malfunction at White Lake Water Park in Elizabethtown, North Carolina resulted in 25 children being sent to the hospital on Thursday, officials said.

Bladen County officials said the pump malfunction caused a small amount of concentrated chlorine to be released into the pool.

As a result, 25 children were taken to the Bladen County Hospital, an emergency services spokesperson said.

The children reportedly showed signs of nausea and vomiting.

The condition of the children has not been released.

Park owners said tests show the chlorine levels are back where they should be.
