Whoopi Goldberg visits shelter of adopted dog featured on 'View' in Chester Springs

CHESTER SPRINGS, Pa. (WPVI) -- A famous face stopped by Main Line Animal Rescue in Chester Springs Saturday afternoon.

Whoopi Goldberg took a tour of the facility to check out the pets up for adoption.

The co-host of the "View" adopted her dog from the shelter.

Goldberg fell in love with Bear the Dog, who is blind and deaf, when he was featured on the show.

"For me, it is a question of who rescued who because I didn't know how much I needed this dog until he showed up," said Goldberg.

After the visit, Goldberg went to King of Prussia where she performed her stand-up comedy show at the Valley Forge Casino Resort.
