NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man has been charged after police raided a home late Tuesday night and found some high-end bicycles and gear allegedly stolen from the Wounded Warrior Project.
Forty-eight-year-old Roy Bowman is charged with theft-receiving stolen property.
Police responded around 8 a.m. Aug. 13 to the Renaissance Hotel on the 500 block of Steven Drive in Tinicum Township, Delaware County, for a reported stolen vehicle.
The victim told police he parked a U-Haul truck in the parking lot of the hotel. When he woke, he discovered the vehicle and all of its contents were missing.
The stolen U-Haul contained multiple bicycles, parts and equipment, with an estimated total value of $37,000, belonging to the Wounded Warrior Project.
On Tuesday, four of the nine bikes stolen at the hotel were recovered at a Northeast Philadelphia home on the 4100 block of Sterling Street.
Police believe the remaining five bikes might be in a U-Haul truck parked somewhere in Northeast Philadelphia.
Bowman was placed under arrest and charged.
The investigation is ongoing.
