Officials at the CDC now say men who have had any possible exposure to the Zika virus should wait six months before trying to conceive.

Just as the World Health Organization recommends, officials at the CDC now say men who have had any possible exposure to the Zika virus, whether they have symptoms or not, should wait six months before trying to conceive.

This is out of caution because researchers can't be sure how long the virus stays in a man's system.

The CDC has added 11 countries in Southeast Asia to its travel advisory.

Pregnant women should avoid non-essential travel to these areas: Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Maldives, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
