This brewery specializes in solar beer
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - February 4, 2008 But not the people at the Lucky Lab Brew
Pub in Portland, Oregon. They make their beer with the sun. Solar
power not only provides the heat needed for the brewing process,
but also heats the hot water used for everything from the
dishwasher to the restrooms. The Lucky Lab will have to sell a lot
of pints to pay for the system. Pub co-owner Gary Geist says the
solar technology cost about $70,000. But he says they hope to make
up the money in energy savings.
