"Any time somebody's trying to give you something that appears free or there's very little work involved - and there's checks involved - and you're to deposit the check and send one - stay away from it," said Attorney General Tom Corbett.

February 12, 2008 Con-artists are mailing out checks with letters - you to make money as a secret shopper or mystery shopper. The Pennsylvania Attorney General says the checks are likely counterfeit! The letters say consumers should deposit the money into their bank accounts. Then wire the cash using moneygram or Western Union to a training supervisor or account manager. The con-artists claim this is to evaluate a money transfer as part of your first training assignment.
