Woman bound and robbed during home invasion

NEW CASTLE, De. - February 13, 2008 County Police responded to the home in the 100 block of Dunbarton Drive just before 9:00 Tuesday morning.

The victim told police she heard a knock at her front door, but when she opened the door no one was there. When she turned around, she was confronted by two men who had broken into the home from the back of the residence. They pushed the victim into the living room area where they bound and blindfolded her.

She told police she could hear the intruders walking up and down her stairs several times before fleeing with items that belonged to her 18-year-old grandson.

The woman eventually freed herself. She called police once she no longer heard noises and believed the men had left the home. Officers searched the area. Witnesses said they saw a blue vehicle in the area around the time of the crime.
