Driver killed in Del. high speed crash

NEWARK, Del. - February 16, 2008 Delaware State Police say the two vehicles were traveling northbound on I-95 near Newark. Eyewitnesses say they were traveling at a high rate of speed. One vehicle left the road, went through a grass median and slammed into a tree.

The driver died on impact.

A female passenger had to be rushed to Christiana Hospital. Eyewitnesses say it appears the two cars were racing. However, investigators believe the vehicles were just recklessly driving in and out of traffic. Police say a third vehicle may have been involved.

So far, one person has been charged with reckless driving.
