Homeowner shoots burglar in groin

A burglary suspect is listed in critical condition after being shot by a homeowner.

Police say the man was trying to enter a home in the 5900 block of Horrocks Street shortly before 1 a.m. As the suspect was breaking into the home, the homeowner shot him in the groin.

The suspect fled but was caught nearby on Sylvester Street.

He's listed in critical condition at Temple University Hospital.

So far, police have not filed any charges.
