Teen charged with spiking teacher's muffin

HICKORY, Pa. (AP) - May 26, 2008

Police say the student at Laurel High School in Hickory was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. His name has not been released because he is charged as a juvenile.

Police say the teen was in the teacher's classroom Thursday morning and offered her a muffin.

Police say after the teacher ate it, she felt woozy, disoriented and ill. She was taken to a hospital and has since returned to her job.

Authorities say they don't know what was in the muffin. The wrapper is being analyzed at a crime lab.
