Wei Wang lives in Montgomery County, Maryland, a little north of the nation's capital.
She wants to dry her laundry outside to save money and energy.
But Wang says the homewowners' association has told her that clotheslines are banned in her development.
She says she's been warned that she could face legal action if she doesn't stop hanging out her laundry.
A number of states are considering laws that would guarantee homeowners the right to dry, but Maryland isn't among them.
