Ice cream: can it get any better?

HADDON HEIGHTS, NEW JERSEY Owner/chef Fred Kellerman helped introduce the small-plate concept now popular in many restaurants.

His latest innovation is unusual ice cream flavors: balsamic vinegar, saramelized onion, and his latest, a sangria sorbet. The flavors are not all sweet, but they're not as unusual as they sound.

Kellerman uses them in many courses. They're also available to take out, and he'll custom-make a flavor "to go" with a day's notice.

Elements Café is open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. It is located just off the White Horse Pike on Station Avenue in Haddon Heights, New Jersey.
