The charter bus was carrying Vietnamese worshippers from Houston on a pilgrimage to a religious festival in Missouri, when it ran off a highway overpass in Sherman, Texas, early this morning. It plunged 15 feet onto the roadway below, landing on its side.
The fire chief says many of the injuries were "crushing" and "there were very few walking wounded."
Police say investigators have interviewed the bus driver, who is in stable condition. Officials are still inspecting the scene, but it appears the bus may have blown a tire.
