Wicker chair leads to crash on Rt. 1

LANGHORNE, Pa. - August 25, 2008 The chair flew out of the back of a pickup truck and into the path of an SUV around 5:00 p.m. along northbound Route 1.

Irene Kraus from Upper Makefield, Pennsylvania was driving the SUV that her 11-year-old daughter was also in.

Kraus, of Upper Makefield, tried to get out of the way of the wicker chair.

The SUV swerved, lost control, and rolled.

Both Kraus and her daughter were not wearing seatbelts.

Kraus was thrown from the vehicle.

Krause's daughter remained in the SUV and was taken out of the car by her grandmother who was following behind them and saw the crash.

Irene Kraus was taken to St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne and was listed in critical condition. Krause's daughter was transported by medical helicopter to Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. Her condition is not known.

There is no further information on the pickup truck that lost the wicker chair, except that is a dark color.
