Biden makes the rounds

DENVER, Co. - August 28, 2008 - He began by joining the Pennsylvania delegation for breakfast, telling them something they already know: Pennsylvania, and its 21 electoral votes, are a necessity to win the presidency.

"It is not hyperbole we cannot win without winning Pennsylvania," Biden said. "It is that simple."

Biden and his wife, Jill, spent half an hour greeting friends from their neighboring state, but took no questions from reporters. He promised the Pennsylvania party bosses resources to continue voter registration drives and oil the "get out the vote" units.

"We have to go back into the vineyards and work. That's where the election will be won," said Ron Donatucci of South Philadelphia.

From Invesco Field in Denver, Obama and Biden will hit the campaign trail, heading to western Pennsylvania for several joint appearances Friday.
