Celebrating 100 years as a twin

NEWBURGH, Ind. (AP) - September 2, 2008

The identical twins turned 100 last Friday and are among the oldest sets of twins in the country.

They've spent their entire lives in southern Indiana's Warrick County and bought farms about a mile apart from each other.

The Carter twins' 100th birthday even prompted an invitation to be on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

But they refused.

It turns out Curtis is afraid to fly.

They tell the Evansville Courier and Press that clean living and hard work are partly responsible for their longevity.
