Woman threatened in road rage incident

UPPER DARBY, Pa. - October 6, 2008 - Investigators tell Action News it all started at the intersection of Lane Road and Marshall around 5:40 p.m. A 21-year-old woman was driving in her car with her 2-year-old child inside.

According to authorities, that woman honked her horn at 24-year-old Deaone McNeal after, she says, he nearly caused an accident.

Police say he made a turn and started yelling and threatening here. She says he said thinks like he was "going to get her."

She claims she drove away from the intersection and he followed her, only to drive up along side her and point a fully-loaded semi-automatic gun with a laser sight on it at her.

She says he threatened her with a gun and told her she "was dead."

The woman called 911 and police pulled over McNeal, saying they found a 7-year-old inside his car.

When police asked if he had a gun, he said no, but was wearing a holster.

A search of the car found the weapon.

McNeal has one prior arrest for aggravated assault from March of 2008.

He is licensed to carry a gun, and tells police it is for self-defense.
