Montco restaurant standoff ends peacefully

A standoff at a Montgomery County restaurant ended early Friday morning with the arrest of two robbery suspects.

It all started about 11:30 Thursday night, when police say two men tried to rob the Old Country Buffet restaurant at Cheltenham and Mount Pleasant avenues in Cheltenham Township.

After getting reports of a robbery in progress, police from Philadelphia, Abington and Cheltenham townships along with the Montgomery County SWAT team, moved in.

The standoff lasted for almost three hours, before officers say the two suspects surrendered without incident.

No shots were fired.

There are no reports of anyone being injured.

The suspects face a long list of charges.
