Will the real Carrie Underwood stand up?

NEW YORK (AP) - October 24, 2008 Carrie Underwood stood next to her wax statue -- and posed for a photo with it Thursday.

The statue is at Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in New York City. And Underwood was on hand to help unveil it yesterday. The statue will reside in the museum's "VIP Room."

The wax figure shows Underwood standing with her hands on her hips and wearing a short, sparkly pink dress. It's similar to the dress she wore to the 2006 Country Music Association Awards show -- where she won her first CMA female vocalist of the year award.

She has since won it again, last year. Underwood gave up a replica of the dress to Tussaud's.

She worked closely with a team of wax artists by letting them take her measurements and pose for photos -- even as she was on tour.
