Teens charged in home invasion beating

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - October 27, 2008 Police say the man was sitting on his porch in the 1100 block of Maple Street on Sunday afternoon when the teens forced him into the home at gunpoint and assaulted him.

When officers arrived, they found the man just inside the door and ran into one teen, who was detained after a struggle. Police say two other teens broke an upstairs window and jumped to the ground to flee, but they were caught after a short chase.

The victim was treated at St. Francis Hospital and later released.

The three teens were charged with burglary, assault, attempted robbery, unlawful imprisonment, conspiracy and criminal mischief. One teen was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.
