Takei says "this may be the basis for taking it to the Supreme Court of the United States." California's Supreme Court legalized gay marriage before Proposition 8 apparently overturned that decision. Vote totals show the proposition passed by 400,000 votes, but opponents say there are millions of ballots that haven't been counted.
Takei married his longtime boyfriend Brad Altman on Sept. 14. Altman says no matter what happens, he'll never take off his wedding ring for the rest of his life. He says their relationship will "live long and prosper"
