Suspect killed by police I.D.'d

STRAWBERRY MANSION - November 14, 2008 Police say 32-year-old Lamont Norman first fired multiple times at undercover officers involved in a narcotics investigation that was not targeting him in the 1700 block of Taney.

Police say they set off in pursuit and that Norman fired at police two more times before he was shot and killed by a SWAT officer in an alley near Etting and 27th streets.

According to police, Norman had 17 prior arrests. He was released from prison in April, and was wanted for walking away from a halfway house in August.

Police did recover the revolver they say Norman used to fire at police. No officers were injured.
