Police say an elderly woman was found lying in the street with head and leg injuries.
The vehicle that struck her left the scene.
Witnesses reported that the vehicle was possibly a 2003-2004 blue or green Ford Taurus station wagon that was driving by a white man, 20-25 years of age with blonde hair.
The driver stopped briefly and then fled west on West Church Street towards the Deptford and Washington Township area.
The vehicle may have front end damage.
The victim is listed in stable condition.
The roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours.
The collision is still under investigation.
