Police: No charges in Pa. dog mauling of girl, 8

HOOKSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - January 21, 2009 Trooper Matthew Roth says the dog that killed Brianna Shanor on Monday was chained and the girl had been warned to stay away from him. The dog, which is part Rottweiler, weighs more than 100 pounds and will likely be euthanized.

Police say the girl apparently went into an old camping trailer that the dog could enter while chained. That's where her body was found, with serious wounds to her neck and other areas.

Police say the girl was living with a guardian in Hanover Township, Beaver County, because her mother recently lost her job. The girl's mother, Tara Wood, says she doesn't blame anybody for the death.
