Woman arrested for alleged "panty raid"

WILMINGTON, Del. - January 22, 2009 Norma Johnson turned herself in to authorities Thursday morning after she saw her picture in several local media outlets and elected to cooperate with police.

Authorities were called to the store in the Concord Mall on January 5th for a report of a theft.

A loss prevention manager told police his investigation connected employee Norma Johnson to more than $9,400 in thefts of merchandise.

The investigation started after a large amount of perfume and underwear were found missing over a 14 month period.

Police say Johnson cooperated with corporate investigators, who ultimately fired her.

She was officially charged with a single count of felony Theft and released on a $2,000.00 unsecured bond.
