Man charged with sexually assaulting young girl

CINNAMINSON, N.J. - January 22, 2009 The man charged is a financial analyst in Philadelphia whom the Burlington County prosecutor tonight is painting as a child sexual predator. His victim is an 8-year-old girl that his wife was supposed to be baby-sitting.

Authorities have charged 63-year-old Donald T. Wright of Cinnaminson, New Jersey with the sexual assault of the 8-year-old girl.

Authorities say he met the child after his wife became her babysitter. She runs a babysitting business out of their home.

Nobody was home to answer Action News at the door, but neighbors were stunned.

"We've known them for 10 years and they've been our neighbors and I've never heard of anything like that happening," Mary Pat Kinslow said.

According to authorities, the child who is an elementary school student claims Wright befriended her and would take her to places around town in his pickup truck. It was during those outings that authorities say the sexual assaults occurred, and that they took place over a two year period.

"I'm nervous for my kids, I have two boys, who roam the streets and play so I'm a little nervous for that, so I'd like to find out what's going on just so we know what to do," Kinslow said.

Donald Wright has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, three counts of sexual assault, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was released after posting $150,000 cash bail with the understanding that he cannot have any unsupervised contact with minors.
