Maryland state police have arrested a 25-year-old Salisbury man accused of fleeing the scene of a fatal motorcycle crash in Delaware. The crash occurred around 3:20 p.m. Monday near the intersection of U.S. 13 and Whitesville Road in Delmar.

Delaware state police say 25-year-old motorcyclist Phillip Jester of Milford hit the rear of the pickup truck Justin Mitchell was driving and then slid under a Honda Civic.

Jester died at the scene.

Police say Mitchell did not stop, but a witness followed him home. Later, Maryland State Police negotiated with Mitchell by cell phone to surrender.

The crash is under investigation. Mitchell is being held at the Maryland State Police barracks pending extradition to Delaware.
