They found Amybeth Williams and her husband, Jeffrey, in the basement with gunshot wounds.
Jeffrey Williams died at the scene from what police say was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Amybeth Williams was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital where she later died.
Police say the husband and wife were the only people involved in the shooting. Their two children were not home at the time.
Pottsville is about 75 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
