Guilty plea in subway beating death

PHILADELPHIA - February 24, 2009 - The Philadelphia District Attorney's officer says that /*Rasheem Bell*/ plead guilty to 3rd degree murder and conspiracy in his involvement with the beating death of /*Sean Conroy*/.

It was in March, 2008 that 36-year-old Sean Conroy was attacked at the subway platform at 13th and Market.

Investigators said the suspects, all teenagers, skipped school at Simon Gratz High School and attacked Conroy on an underground SEPTA platform. Police say they kicked and punched him until Conroy suffered a fatal asthma attack.

Police told Action News the teens say they singled out Conroy, not to rob him, but because the attack would be fun.

4 others face trial in this case, 3 adults and one juvenile.
