Man accused of buying cars in ex's name

DEVON, Pa. (AP) - March 4, 2009 Forty-five-year-old Everett Frank of Devon pleaded guilty Tuesday to six counts each of identity theft and insurance fraud and one count of forgery. Judge Phyllis Streitel sentenced him to concurrent terms of 16 to 32 months in state prison plus two years probation. He also must pay back $183,000.

Frank apologized to his former wife, Michelle Frank. He says he found out he was bipolar and has a drug problem.

Michele Frank says life with him was so unbearable she considered suicide. When she finally left him in June 2006 he started using her phony signature and documents, and she soon found her name was linked to six car loans.
