Keep up that exercise after heart attacks

March 20, 2009

And a new study shows they should stay on it!

Swiss researchers say that cardiac rehab dramatically improves the health of blood vessels after a heart attack.

But after just 4 weeks of skipping exercise, their blood vessels went back into the same condition as just after the heart attacks.

The study is published in the March 16 issue of the journal Circulation, published by the American Heart Association.

The lead researcher says cardiac rehab is cheap - but the price of losing its benefits is high.
