Stolen NJ puppy found safe

PARAMUS, N.J. - April 1, 2009- "Kisses," an 8-week-old female Chihuahua, was stolen during an adoption event at a Paramus pet store last weekend.

But she was found Tuesday night and two people are facing charges.

Authorities located "Kisses" after a worker with the pet adoption group determined that a woman who wanted to adopt her had been turned down.

Police went to the address on the application and, after a man answered the door, officers saw a woman quickly scoop up a small dog matching "Kisses" description.

Charges of receiving stolen property were filed again Heather Behan of Bergenfield and her boyfriend, Jonathan Jauregui of Dumont.

It would have cost nearly $500 to legally adopt "Kisses."
