Del. Powerball winners claim prize

DOVER, Del. - April 14, 2009- Delaware lottery officials say the pair, who wish to remain anonymous, bought the ticket at Ben Bows Package Store in Dover just before the February 28th drawing.

They won half of a $174 million drawing. Each will get a lump sum payment of $35 million after taxes are withheld.

The Delaware Lottery says the two formed a legal entity before coming forward.

An attorney representing that entity provided the Lottery with the following authorized written statement on behalf of the winners:

"Two long-time friends will share the February 28, 2009 Delaware Lottery prize. The friends have played the lottery together for many years with the hope of sharing a lottery jackpot should either come into possession of a winning ticket. One of the friends purchased the winning ticket at Ben Bows Package Store in Dover prior to the February 28 drawing and made good on the longstanding agreement to share the prize.

The other jackpot winner bought their ticket at the Plymouth Meeting Mall in Pennsylvania.

They've yet to come forward.
