SUV collides with mail truck, then hits building

WILMINGTON, Del. - April 16, 2009 The collision happened shortly after 10:00 a.m. near 2nd and Franklin Streets in Wilmington.

The SUV struck a building housing a boutique on the first floor and apartments on the upper floors.

Firefighters had to rescue residents from the apartments because of damage to the first floor.

Authorities with L&I are assessing the damage right now.

The intersection was shutdown for a time until the wreckage was cleared.
