Disabled child beaten to death in N.J.

The death of a 2-year-old boy with disabilities in Cape May County, New Jersey has been ruled a homicide. Police say a the child, Cadan Rivera, was beaten by his mother's boyfriend, Daman Garcia, 31.

The boy was brought to Cape May Regional Medical Center on Thursday afternoon with injuries to his stomach and internal bleeding.

He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Garcia was arrested at his home in the 100 block of East Learning Avenue in Wildwood late Thursday night.

Police say the beating took place at a location at the Woodbine Manor Apartments in Woodbine, New Jersey.

Garcia is in the Cape May jail, being held without bail.
