Father charged in baby death

BRIDGETON, N.J. - May 8, 2009 - Police say Terell I. Hubbard, of the 21 block of West Oak Lane, was home along with the girl, Ianaya, on October 20, 2008.

According to investigators, Hubbard got angry after Ianaya would not stop crying, and forcefully threw her against a wall.

Hubbard later became concerned, authorities say, because the girl looked ill, so he called 911.

Lanaya was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, but was declared brain dead three days later and taken off life support.

Hubbard is to be charged with aggravated manslaughter.

Hubbard's girlfriend, who is the baby's mother, was not at home at the time of the incident, police say.

Hubbard has been charged with aggravated manslaughter and bail was set at $100,000 cash.
