Woman pinned to house by car

NEW CASTLE COUNTY, Del. - May 9, 2009 She sustained serious injuries to her legs and is in surgery at Christiana Hospital after being air lifted by the Delaware State Police Helicopter.

Police located the driver of the SUV, the victim's 22-year-old cousin, Larzar J. Reid, who lives with the victim. He was found to be wanted on several warrants issued by Kent County Family Court. The warrants were for Violation of Probation and Failure to Pay fines. Reid was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 on these warrants and was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Facility in Wilmington in lieu of $3,050 cash bond.

Investigation reveals that the victim asked Reid to move her SUV while the victim was cleaning up in front of their home. As Reid was moving the vehicle, he lost control of the vehicle and struck the victim, momentarily pinning her between the front bumper of the SUV and the brick wall in front of their home.

The victim then fell to the ground between the SUV and house.

Reid exited the SUV and began yelling for help before he fled the area on foot. He went to another home on the same block where he was located by police and taken into custody without incident.

Alcohol is not a factor in this crash.

Investigation is continuing into the facts surrounding today's crash, and as such, Reid has not been charged in connection with today's crash at this time.

Several area residents called 911 to report the incident.
