Pa. man gets prison for hammer homicide

NATRONA HEIGHTS, Pa. (AP) - May 19, 2009

Fifty-one-year-old Gary Hill, of Aliquippa, was sentenced Monday. He had pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in February in the death of 76-year-old Joseph Jackson of Pittsburgh.

Police say the men were at Hill's girlfriend's unit in the Sheldon Park public housing complex in Harrison Township when Hill attacked Jackson with the hammer.

Police say Hill told them he just "snapped" during an argument with Jackson on Nov. 29, 2007.
