Police say an officer responding to a report of a man carrying a gun Saturday night chased a man that matched the suspect's description. The man fell, then police say he pointed his gun at the officer, who fired, hitting the man.
Wilkerson was taken to Christiana Hospital in critical condition. He is now listed in stable condition. His bail was set at $21,500.
Police have not identified the officer, but officials say he has been placed on administrative duties while the shooting is investigated.
