70 elementary school kids sick in Radnor

RADNOR, Pa. (AP) - June 9, 2009 They were out of classes Monday at Ithan Elementary school in the Radnor School District.

District officials are asking parents to keep their children home if they are showing signs of illness. The youngsters are reporting symptoms that include fevers, sore throats and coughs.

The school building has been sanitized and Superintendent Linda Grobman says the district is in touch with the state Department of Health.

Ithan Elementary remains open and officials say Radnor High School's graduation, which is set for Wednesday night, also will go on.

The last day of classes in the Radnor schools is next Tuesday.
