Mrs. Fixit: Morning Timesavers

June 20, 2009

If you need that morning java to get going, get it ready at night, then you can just walk into the kitchen and flip on the coffee maker.

Make a double batch of waffles or pancakes on the weekend, let them cool and then freeze for a quick and easy weekday breakfast.

Prepare fruit when you buy it. Cut melon and put it in a bowl in the fridge, wash other fruit and keep it in a bowl on the counter. It makes these items grab and go for breakfast or a lunchbox.

Speaking of the lunchbox, when you get a box of crackers or pretzels take a few minutes to separate them into a snack size bags.

This tip serves triple duty, they're less expensive than buying pre-packaged snacks, they're always ready for a lunchbox and you won't be tempted to overeat if you pull out a whole box of snacks.

Another tip - pick out everyboady's clothes for the week on sunday and take a few minutes to press them. There's no more fighting and scrambling in the mornings, everybody's clothes are ready to go.

A timesaving morning makeover, I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple.
