Shooting spree leaves 6 wounded

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - June 19, 2009

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the neck just before midnight along the 1100 block of South 52nd Street in Southwest Philadelphia.

He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is in stable condition.

Police have not indicated what sparked the shooting.

Around 1:30 on Friday morning, gunmen shot three men outside a bar on the corner of 55th and Baltimore in Southwest Philadelphia.

One man was shot in the chest.

A 28-year-old man was shot repeatedly in the legs.

And a 32-year-old man was wounded in the jaw and legs.

At least 20 bullet shells litered the street.

Witnesses say they saw three tall men in t-shirts and jeans running from the scene.

And at around 11:10 on Thursday night three men opened fire on two persons outside a house on the 4900 block of Olive Street in West Philadelphia.

One person suffered a bullet wound to the chest, the other was struck in the leg.

The victims are being treated at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where there's no word on their conditions.
