Suspects ram Philadelphia Police cruiser

KENSINGTON - June 30, 2009

The latest incident happened a little after 4:00 on Tuesday morning on the 2700 block of Jasper Street in the Kensington section of the city.

Investigators say an officer pulled over the car becuse it matched the description of a stolen vehicle.

Police say that's when the driver of the car rammed the patrol car while the officer was still sitting in it.

Detectives say the two men in the suspected car then got out and made a run for it.

Officers chased the suspects as they ran onto nearby railroad tracks.

A police dog was called in and helped nab the suspects.

One officer was taken to Temple University Hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.

The suspects face a number of charges.
