Water main break in NE Philly

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA - July 2, 2009 - It happened at around 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Holme Avenue and Academy Road.

An eight inch water main broke, sending water gushing down the streets.

One lane of southbound Academy Road was closed because of the break.

Repairs will be made to the broken line and the sidewalk, and traffic should not be affected.

There are no reports of flooded homes at this time.
