State police in Uniontown say someone stole two female puppies from a Fayette County shelter. The mixed-breed pit bulls were taken sometime over the weekend at the Steve Courson Humane Society of Fayette County. Police believe the burglar broke a window in the lobby to get inside the facility.

Authorities say the burglar also stole dog food and did about $500 worth of damage to the building.
