Pitts was arrested about 10 p.m. Friday after driving the city truck to his home, with a state trooper in slow pursuit, following an attempt to make a traffic stop.
During a special meeting of the City Council Monday, the council voted unanimously not to allow Pitts to drive the city truck.
He turned in a key, though he said he had others at home.
