Police say the vehicle, driven by Theresa Hunt, 36, was struck by the a giant red oak tree on Marsh Road.

"I heard it, I felt it hit my truck, and I just jumped out to grab her," Hunt said, talking about her 7-year-old daughter Kierra.

The girl was trapped inside. However, it could have been much worse.

Most of the tree landed on the hood, while some of it hit the passenger's side.

Terry was in the driver's seat, while Kierra was in the seat behind her. Amazingly, they were not hit.

"Now that she's getting older, when we go on short trips, she's trying to get up front and be the big kid," Terry Hunt said, adding she's glad Kierra was sitting in the back or things could have turned out differently.

Kierra was treated at the scene for a scratch on her nose.

"I felt the bumps under the truck, and I went like that," Kierra said, covering her face. "When I came back up, I saw the branch in the back seat. Then I got a little scared."

Despite the destruction, it was the loss of her CDs and DVDs that concerned Kierra the most.

"When am I going to get my Disney DVD back?" she asked her mom.

Action News, a Disney-owned station, was happy to replace Kierra's favorite CD, a collection of hit songs from Disney Channel shows.
