Chester County authorities say a fire that destroyed a home in West Goshen Township was deliberately set. It all began around 2:00 p.m. Thuresday in the 1100 block of Costwold Lane.

Police responded to a call of juveniles breaking into a home at that address. When they arrived, police saw two juveniles leaving the rear of the residence.

Police say the juveniles told them they had set fire to the house after smoke was seen coming from the basement.

The fire department was called in after police were unable to put out the fire. The fire was not brought under control until about 5:00 p.m., destroying the structure and sending two firefighters to the hospital for minor injuries.

The two juveniles face arson and related charges.
